April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball player from the United States is part of a select category of females who have been awarded medals at multiple Olympics. Ross is scheduled to compete in Tokyo for her third Olympic medal, along with Alix Klineman, a first time Olympian. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic Gold. This may be the last time she has the chance when she turns 39. Her confidence is high nevertheless. Ross has told NBC Boston that he believes if they play their best, or even one of their best games, we will win the gold. In addition, I'm planning have a chance to try my hand at fortunate. Ross was born on August 22, 1982, on the outskirts of Costa Mesa California. She lived with her family in Costa Mesa. She went on to compete across a variety of activities in Newport Harbor High School. She was a basketball player and also ran tracks in addition to her indoor volleyball accomplishments as a prep athlete. She was definitely a one of a kind in this latter game. Through her high school years, she was a middle blocker outside setter and hitter on the volleyball court per her college bio. To honor her effort she was honoured as an 1999 Gatorade The Circle of Champions' National Player of Year. In addition, she was awarded the 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Year award in volleyball. While Ross and Klineman are in the spotlight since 2017, the former had already been a major player on the beach scene long before their pairing. Her name has appeared in major events with different teams. The other is an iconic player in the volleyball world. They teamed up with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and she also served as the Klineman's assistant and Kessy's coach. Alongside Kessy Ross was an ace on the international circuit winning a world title in 2009. They won a Silver Medal at the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty Maytreanor's iconic team along with Kerri Jennings took home the gold. Ross Jennings became Walsh Jennings partner in fate when Maytreanor decided to retire. They went on to win the bronze medal in beach volleyball during the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross was part of the Trojans of USC in her the years of college after graduating from high school. And her run at USC was quite impressive. Her achievements included an All-American and Pac-10 freshman of the year in the year 2000. In addition, she helped the Trojans reach in the Final Four. Her sophomore year was the time she experienced a devastating personal tragedy, yet managed to win an All-American. The two years following her, she took the Trojans to the top of the hill to win consecutive national titles. As an individual, she established herself as an all-time great receiving in 2003 and 2004 the Honda Sports Award as the nation's top female collegiate volleyball player. Ross was a student of international relations at USC. Sadly, Ross mom Margie was not able to witness her daughter rise to the very top in beach volleyball's acclaim. Ross's mother Margie died in the year 2001. Ross was still in the midst of being a USC sophomore. Her breast cancer had been diagnosed. Yet, she is able to cherish her missing parent with love and close. And Margie remains a source of motivation for her at the beaches and throughout life.
